“Escape and Wait” is an excellent way to show guests in
your home that you care about the safety of them and their children.
You have made the effort to insure that their child is part of your
“Family Escape Plan”.
Every night your children spend at a friend’s home you worry more than usual. Will the adults know what to do if your child gets sick or hurt? Do they have any guns in the home and are they locked properly? You send them off and worry about their safety until they return. When your children have friends over their parents are worrying about the same things.
You don't expect their parents to come into your home and check the
batteries in your smoke detectors. You don't fill out safety questionnaires
before neighbor kids spend the night. You don’t expect other parents
to fill out forms before your precious ones spend the night in their
care. What you can do is show other parents that you care about fire
safety. Posting an "Escape and Wait" prominently in your front
yard will show your guests your meeting place. If an emergency occurs
your family and guests will know exactly what to do and where to go.
The “Escape and Wait” is an excellent way to show to everyone
coming into your home that you care about the safety of their children.
